Meet Our Designers
Designer: Amy Wong Micucci
My own wedding. When I got married, it was nearly impossible to find bridesmaid dresses in either the ready-to-wear, or bridal markets that reflected current style trends, but were still wedding appropriate. There were a lot of options, but most looked too "prom"-like, or costume-y - nothing that I would ever choose to wear on my own. I ended up designing and sewing dresses for my bridesmaids and figured that if I was having this issue (even with all the amazing shopping locations here in LA), other brides were probably feeling the void in the market as well. I decided to leave my job in the fashion industry and start my own business right after my wedding... and Swoon was born!
Seeing the end result! I love to see the different ways brides mix and match our styles and colors for their bridal parties and it gives me such a thrill to see wedding photos where the bridesmaids are wearing our dresses. It is truly an honor to play a part in such a momentous occasion.
Add an hour or two to the reception length you THINK you want, or plan an after-party. It is such an amazing feeling to have all the people you love together in one place — you aren't going to want it to end!
Remember that you are just along for the ride. Be respectful of the brides's choices and requests. You'd want the same from your bridesmaids when you are the bride!!!
You can't really beat Kate Moss, style-wise. But I also think Justin Timberlake & Jessica Biel's wedding in Italy looked pretty amazing.
Love. Of course :)
